Built in 1898, the Bed & Breakfast - Villa Mira Longa is located in the historic center of Sintra, on the hillside, with a breathtaking view over the historic center, the National Palace, the Atlantic Ocean and the Moorish Castle.
Named it “ Mira Longa”, which in Portuguese means long view, because the Villa clings on the side of the Sintra hills with a panoramic breathtaking view over Sintra’s historic center (Unesco World Heritage) overlooking one of the most beautiful and important Portuguese palaces (National Palace) and the Ocean.
It is walking distance from Quinta da Regaleira, Pena Palace and the 9th century Moorish castle, an easy ten minutes drive to reach the international golf course of Sintra and two of the most beautiful beaches, Praia Grande and Praia da Adraga. As well the excellent location allows its guest to walk to the different nice cosy restaurants in the historic center
After more than a hundred years in the same family, Villa Mira Longa that had been neglected for many years, was bought by a retired Belgian businessman and a Brazilian art restorer and interior decorator. With their love and devotion, they restored this unique jewel to its original splendor. After 6 years of restoration, refurbishing and redecorating with personal style and taste as well as restoring the magnificent plaster works in the living rooms, the gorgeous Portuguese tiles on the verandas, replanting and redecorating the romantic terraced garden with exotic flowers and statues, the owners decided to open Villa Mira Longa as a Bed & Breakfast (Guest House).
The Villa Mira Longa offers six different bedrooms with private bathrooms with all the amenities and services that you would expect from a five star: room service, laundry and dry cleaning service, t, free internet access and frigobar...
It’s merely 20 minutes drive from Lisbon Airport and easy to get to by public transports (train or bus).
The Brazilian art restorer, who studied at the Restoration School of Sintra, will be pleased to share with the guests his expertise in the history of the palaces of Sintra.
